Triton HDR 5.4 MP Model with AltaView Tone Mapping

The Triton TDR054S featuring the IMX490 (BSI) back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor, along with LUCID’s on-camera AltaView HDR tone mapping engine allows for adaptive tone mapping without the need to create your own tone mapping algorithm on a host PC. The Triton TDR054S with AltaView utilizes the full 24-Bit RAW image stream from the IMX490 sensor to produce a low latency 8-bit (RGB or YCbCr) tone mapped image stream that is rich in color and packed with valuable data in the shadows and highlights. This final 8-bit image stream is optimized for mobile sensing applications such as automotive, rail inspection, and autonomous robots.

AltaView: On-Camera Tone Mapping. Optimized for Mobile Sensing

The TDR054S with AltaView™ on-camera HDR tone mapping processes native 24-bit RAW to provide full color RGB (8-bit per color channel) and YCbCr output. Experience higher frame rates with lower latency and reduced development time. The adaptive tone mapping provides:
• On-camera, low latency 24-Bit RAW to 8-Bit RGB tone mapping
Temporal backward flow filtering to eliminate brightness flicker
Multi-stage white balancing and color balancing for color accuracy and image sharpness
Fixed exposure setting. No need for auto exposure, auto white balance, auto gain, or additional CCMs or LUTs

*The IMX490 achieves high dynamic range using two sub-pixels for each pixel location which vary in sensitivity and saturation capacity. Each sub-pixel is readout with high and low conversion gains giving four 12-bit channels for each pixel. These four channels are combined into single linear 24-bit HDR value. The EMVA1288 standard is not directly applicable to the 24-bit combined data, but is applicable to the individual channels. Results were measured on the individual channels and scaled when appropriate to reflect how the channels are combined into a 24-bit HDR image.
