What is an Event-Based Camera?
Speed, performance, efficiency and safety for a new era in autonomy, automation and mobility
The Triton2 EVS camera, featuring the Event-based vision sensor, provides event-based data. Instead of taking frames, event-based pixels continuously sample the incoming light and generate signal only when the light level changes.
The sensor is shutter-free as it continuously monitors photocurrent for changes of illumination and responds with an ON or OFF event that represents an increase or decrease in intensity exceeding given thresholds.
The IMX636 and IMX637 sensors were made possible through a collaboration between Sony and Prophesee, by combining Sony’s CMOS image sensor technology with Prophesee’s unique event-based Metavision® sensing technologies.
Event-based Vision Sensor + Triton2 Factory Tough Camera
SPEED
>10k fps Time-Resolution Equivalent
Achieve high-speed and high-temporal resolution. There is no framerate tradeoff anymore. Take full advantage of events over frames and reveal the invisible hidden in hyper fast and fleeting scene dynamics.
DYNAMIC RANGE
>120dB Dynamic Range
Achieve high robustness even in extreme lighting conditions. With the Triton2 EVS you can now perfectly see details from pitch dark to blinding brightness in one same scene, at any speed.
LOW LIGHT
0.08 lx Low-Light Cutoff
Sometimes the darkest areas hold the clearest insights. Triton2 EVS enables you to see events where light almost does not exist, down to 0.08 lx.
IP67 Dust & Water Protection
With an IP67 lens tube and cables attached, the Triton2 EVS offers protection from solid particles such as dust, dirt and sand. It also offers water ingress protection of up to 1 meter submersion for 30 minutes.
M12 2.5GigE PoE Interface
The M12 Ethernet connection provides a robust and secure connection that allows for both data transmission and Power-Over-Ethernet (PoE) over one cable, simplifying setup and maintenance.
Active Sensor Alignment
All Triton2 EVS camera units are actively aligned during manufacturing to minimize image sensor tilt, image sensor rotation, and to place the center of the image sensor at the lens optical axis.
Shock and Vibration
Tested and certified against physical shocks (x/y/z), bumps (x/y/z), and vibrations (x/y/z, random and sinusoidal).
Industrial EMC Immunity
Immunity against voltage fluctuations, electrostatic discharge, surges, strong magnetic fields, and current emissions.
